We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Markets Securities Services AI Oversight Non Financial Risk 

In this role, you will:

  • Support the operation of the MSS AI Review Forum, including agenda setting, review coordination, committee pack production, minutes, management information and action tracking.
  • Coordinates governance engagement with business, technology, control and first- and second-line stakeholders; formal committee membership and delegated decision rights are subject to the applicable governance terms of reference; Ad hoc, event-driven support to facilitate escalations from MSS AIROF to the appropriate MSS, CIB, or HSBC Group forums.
  • Manage the MSS AI governance and risk management programme across the full AI use case lifecycle, including development, change and deployed use, and support simplification and automation of in-scope processes.Review and constructively challenge AI use case submissions, governance requests and supporting artefacts to assess whether risk, control and governance requirements are appropriately addressed.
  • Maintain clear, accurate and timely lifecycle records, management information and meeting materials to support decision-making and effective governance. Provide proactive follow-up and evidence-based closure of actions arising from governance forums, reviews, incidents and thematic issues; escalate matters where appropriate.
  • Support development and maintenance of MSS-specific AI procedures, standards, templates, training materials and communications. Coordinate responses to internal stakeholder queries and review activity, including engagement with Model Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Cybersecurity, Legal and Internal Audit as required.
  • Provide oversight of use case monitoring, lifecycle tracking and reporting for MSS AI use cases, identifying emerging risks, issues and operational events for escalation; high-quality written and verbal updates for senior management and governance forums, and support the Global Head of MSS AI Risk Management with day-to-day governance activity.
  • Promote proportionate, practical and sustainable control design for AI-enabled activity across MSS, working with business sponsors, technology teams and control partners to embed AI risk management into BAU processes.
  • Act as a key coordination point across MSS AI Risk Management, NFR, product-aligned teams, technology, risk stewards, compliance, audit and other control partners.
  • Challenge constructively, communicate technical or policy matters in practical business language, and escalate appropriately where evidence indicates a material risk or control concern. Operate effectively in an evolving governance environment, combining control rigour, pragmatic delivery & strong execution discipline.
  • Support training, communications & awareness activity to strengthen consistent adoption of MSS AI governance requirements.

To be successful you will:

  • Experience in governance-adjacent roles within a financial institution, such as Non-Financial Risk, Business Management, model risk, governance or audit.
  • Working understanding of AI and model governance expectations, including documentation, approval processes, monitoring, remediation and lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of governance processes, meeting management, action tracking and management information production.
  • Strong coordination and project-management capability
  • Proven expertise in process improvement, simplification and automation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, evidence discipline, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Desirable: knowledge of HSBC AI governance, lifecycle or policy requirements;Desirable: experience with AI or analytics tooling, use case lifecycle management, governance workflow, training, communications or policy uplift activity; Desirable: awareness of regional AI regulatory developments and broader responsible AI expectations.
