Job Title: Manager, Data Quality and Governance
Purpose of the role
Information Management job family is designed to cater towards all the data needs of business. It covers sourcing of data and building structured data lakes, designing data marts generating Business Insights and hosting data in Cloud. Key responsibilities also include but not limited to: creation of a robust data foundation and continuous update of these datasets, to support Analysis and reporting, identify opportunities for data monetization, leverage BI and Visualization tools to deliver key business insights and develop self-serve BI solutions to empower the business to make informed decisions. The team members embed agile delivery methodologies to continuously keep refining the data models using new and emerging techniques. This team also acts as a bridge between IT and the business stakeholders
Data team will be responsible for the quality of data used in decisioning strategies. This role is critical to ensure that the data quality and governance standards are applied when bringing in data in to the system and when creating data for downstream systems.
In this role, you will:
- Data Resilience, Quality and Governance Manager is a global role.
- Assess the data management and data quality maturity within functional area and partner with stakeholders to define and implement data resiliency and data quality standards for multiple data sources.
- Work with the business and technology teams to lead the creation and development of data quality management standards
- Drive the Data quality discussions with business and arrive at detailed data quality requirements and resiliency rules.
- Create a Data Quality store and Dashboards to provide insights on the Quality of data and highlight potential issues which needs attention.
- Automate the Data Quality detection and monitoring using Cloud based tools.
- Create/Maintain a Metadata inventory and maintain the same.
To be successful you will:
- Over 3+ total experience with at least 1 Year of relevant experience on Data Quality Management , Data Governance and using tools like Tableau, Qlik sense , Looker studio or other BI tools.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from reputed university with specialization in engineering discipline. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/Retail banking-operations is desired
- Experience on working on Data/Information Governance and Data Quality Management projects of varying complexities. Experience with GCP or other Cloud platforms like AWS / Azure is a good to have.
- Strong background and hands-on experience on google cloud ( GCP ) Bigquery, Dataplex / other tools for Data quality management is a good to have. Experience with Agile/iterative process in delivering use cases. Exposure to JIRA/Confluence for project management activity
- Proven ability to work in a matrix multi-national operating structure. Strong understanding of Credit Risk Strategies: acquisitions, portfolio management collections and its data components
- Experience in data transformation and data visualization and analytics etc. Experience in translating business requirement documents to detailed data and implementation requirements
- Proven passion for data analysis and data quality . Experience creating data quality rules for MI, strategies: accuracy, validity, completeness, etc.
- Outstanding attention to detail. Strong understanding of HSBC Group structures, processes and objectives is desirable. Strong understanding of banking / HSBC and of how change drives benefits for HSBC, its customers and other stakeholders. Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success. Maintain the level of communication/interaction across the team and direct manager including onshore business partners.
- Strong analytical skills with business analysis aptitude. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations is advantageous.
