Job Title: Lead AVP - Data and Analytics

  • Address business problems with quantitative solutions like building of predictive algorithms / forecasting / scenario simulations etc.. Converting a business problem into a quantitative construct, solve it with available statistical / mathematical methods (following the right rigour), engage with IT to implement and finally interpret the outcomes in business language. The range of business problems may cover areas of business growth, improving customer experience, limiting risk exposure, capital quantification, enhancing internal business processes etc. They are required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach, justify the choice of appropriate methods to various internal and external reviewers. The role holder would be required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach as needed, and retain the flexibility to change track to adopt other solutions based on changed scenarios, to deliver on effective results. This talent group is expected to keep themselves apprised of latest developments and industry practices around emerging methodologies, techniques etc. and bring those in-house by applying them for better outcomes. The talent group can also be tapped into for providing solutions for varying areas including improving existing processes, technology, and approaches by embedding exploratory & analytics & taking it forward.
  • Fraud Analytics Team at GAC is an integral part of the Fraud  Management Services providing cutting-edge data-driven insights to reduce the Fraud losses, and drive operational efficiency and improve customer experience. The GAC Team as part of the Global Data & Analytics team forms the information basis for strategic planning by the senior management for fraud  mitigation and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges. The role is a people manager role and responsible for owning the functional delivery of the Fraud & Mule Strategic initiatives across clusters in line with the vision of adopting best in class fraud analytics solutions and allowing the business to make the appropriate strategic decisions to reduce fraud

In this role, you will:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)

  • Act as an SME/consultant on a functional area, conceptualise analytical solution for the business problem at hand for multiple businesses/region
  • Lead/mentor a team of individuals to provide analytical and strategic solutions to business with clear articulation of recommendations
  • Partner with the business effectively to drive data driven decisions and generate value.
  • Good understanding of business domain, functional goals, and the required technical expertise
  • Owns delivery of high quality analytical solutions for the business stakeholders across one of more regions
  • Partner with business leaders in developing & owning analytical strategies to achieve business goals.
  • Translate key analytical solutions as generic and re-deployable across regions / markets
  • Supports innovative analytical thinking & solutions that results into improved business performance
  • Identifying the training & development needs of the team & self to ensure required upskilling happens to stay relevant.
  • Interact with senior management and communicate and synthesize information in a simple form

  • Being part of the IWPB Fraud & Mule analytics  team the candidate needs to deliver and deploy suit of capabilities in Money Mule space across markets by designing Money Mule risk typologies across Customer life-cycle stages(Onboarding,Early Stage,Portfolio) by building Anomaly detection models ,rules and graph network solutions .The candidate needs to work closely with multiple stakeholders within a particular cluster  to drive the solutions to implementation. The candidate should exhibit  :
  • Proven expertise in using statistical / ML algorithms for solving diverse business challenges and creating significant business value
  • Knowledge and exposure to cloud analytics platform such as GCP, AWS Redshift , Azure etc. will be preferred                                                                                                                             
  • Prior hands-on experience in  Banking  domain and  Fraud/Financial Crime tools and platforms will be highly preferred

Management of Risk/Internal Controls/Compliance:

  • The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
  • This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.

Skills & Experience:

  • We're a multi-disciplinary team and value experience from a wide variety of industries and specialisms. If you have a background in analytics, big data, software engineering, devOps or data management we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for people with skills and experience in:-
  • Degree level educated (or relevant work experience) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or any other quantitative discipline
  • Advanced analytical techniques e.g. regression analysis, predictive analysis, data mining, machine learning
  • Experience of one or more of the following: SAS, Python, Spark, SQL,Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Domain experience in financial crime would be an advantage but not essential (Fraud, Anti Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Sanctions)
  • Strong analytical thought process and aptitude for creative problem solving.
