We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Fund Administrator – Fund Accounting.

In this role, you will:

  • The traditional & Exchange Traded Fund Accounting & Valuations team has daily, monthly and weekly Net Asset Value valuations with stringent timelines. The team is responsible for performing capital activity bookings, accruals, amortization, yields leading to final generation and validation of Net Asset Value through diagnostic checks, Financial Mainframe Report and post Net Asset Value activities.
  • The team also performs other Monthly & Reporting activities which includes Fee Reviews. Ex‑Dividend Distribution, Trustee Packs and Queries, Regulatory & Client Reporting. The Accounting & Valuations team is responsible functionally across multiple jurisdictions (where applicable) serviced out of Markets and Securities Services Bangalore.
  • Individual joining is expected to prepare accurate Net Asset Value packs of Traditional & Exchange Traded Fund portfolios and related activities on timely basis with expected quality. Will be responsible for ensuring quality pack deliverables for several portfolios of Traditional funds. Promote relentless focus on service quality across Traditional Fund portfolios.
  • Implement key changes in the process and deliver continuous process improvement. Capture accurate and right data (ICATs, Daily tracker etc.) for purpose of Management Information System. The individual will have to complete all the activities of the assigned funds within the set time limit and ensure that the accurate pack is delivered to the stakeholders within the Performance Level Agreement. The individual needs to be flexible to work shifts and respond to additional business need if required.
  • Be flexible to adopt in different working environment with counter parts across the globe. Actively participate in the deployment of defined business solutions to remove manual processes. Proactively identify and reduce manual processes for enhanced operational control while supporting and implementing technology upgradation. Lead User Acceptance Testing for the business (as and when required).
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards overseeing the timely implementation of audit points. Updating all daily Management Information System / trackers accurately and in a timely manner as required by the process. Complete all Mandatory training as and when required.
  • Ensure timely follow up on the open & outstanding issues that hinder the valuation while adhering to escalation Matrix as agreed between Business Partners and Markets and Securities Services Bangalore. Actively participate in projects for improvement in delivery quality and/or timeliness. Proactively identify and reduce manual processes for enhanced operational control.
  • Continually identify raise the risks that have been identified / observed in department processes and procedures. Take appropriate measures to extend support to the audit process and recommendations on a timely manner. Undertake the fund’s activities accurately and in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures, Checklist and controls.

To be successful, you will:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other qualifications relevant to the accounting/finance industry.
  • 0-2 years of relevant/accounting work experience. Good knowledge of Capital Markets and Financial instruments. Basic knowledge of end to end product and process, multiple market and regulations. Good knowledge in accounting principles, fundamentals of Accounting. Life cycle of Net Asset Value process.
  • Proficiency in EXCEL essential. Ability to Speak and understand English. Good interpersonal and team work skills. Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads due to changing circumstances and meet strict deadlines. Basic understanding of end to end Fund Accounting Model. Basic knowledge in custody, brokerage, depository, investment accounting, mutual funds and reconciliations.
  • Must be aware of the operational risk scenarios associated with this role and act upon pertinent risk (if any). Will be expected to maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, together with any issues raised by external regulators
  • Knowledge of Derivatives Instruments. Expert in Accounting Knowledge. Earlier experience in custody / brokerage / funds services / depository industry. Detailed understanding of end-to-end product and process, multiple market and regulations pertaining to the fund services industry.
  • Working knowledge of accounting applications  used across industry. Additional qualifications related to financial industry will be given preference. Responsible for the implementation of Group Compliance Policy as is applicable to this role.
  • Must be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with this role and to ensure that all actions performed take into account the likelihood of operational risk occurring.
