Job title: Fund Administration Processor - FTC

  • Statutory Reporting team prepares and review Financial Statements comprising of Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Account, Cash Flow Statement, Notes on Accounts and other Annexures to Annual or Interim Reports like Statement of Investments, Statement of Changes in Capital etc. for set of Funds administered by MSS globally.
  • Individual will be involved in below activities
  • Preparation of Financial Statements (Balance Sheet, Income statement, cash flow, relevant working papers, notes to accounts, Schedule of Investments etc.) in accordance with local legal requirements and relevant accounting standards for the respective country, i.e. IFRS or US GAAP or UK SORP or Local GAAPs as applicable and within strict timelines.

In this role, you will:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)

Impact on the Business/ Function

  • Participate in the deployment of defined business solutions to remove manual processes.
  • Identify and reduce manual processes for enhanced operational control. Support and implement technology up gradation.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing for the business (as and when required).

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Pre-preparation Activities (including Master Setups, Roll Forwards etc.)
  • Preparing Financial Statements, in accordance with legal requirements and relevant accounting standards i.e. IFRS or US GAAP or Local GAAPs as applicable and within strict timelines.
  • Supporting the audit / review process as and when required. Also, support on other ancillary activities to the preparation of FS and/or audit process.
  • Support the Manager in the process and to work in perfect harmony to ensure service level excellence.
  • Updating self & team on developments/updates on relevant GAAP & IFRS.
  • Teamwork & Co-ordination
  • To share process related best practices with the team.
  • To take Initiatives to demonstrate the application of principles in the day to day work environment Participation and support provided to initiatives taken by other teams
  • Perform any additional responsibilities that may be required by the Supervisor in support of the on-going management and development of the division
  • Be involved in the project / support related activities as and when it arises.
  • Undertake/conduct trainings/cross training for all staff including existing and new staffs.
  • Being proactive in identifying root cause for process related challenges and share qualitative resolution
  • Be flexible to adopt in different working environment with counter parts across the globe.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • To maintain HSBC internal control standards including the timely implementation of audit points.
  • Updating all daily MIS/trackers as required by the process.
  • Complete all Mandatory trainings as and when required.
  • Undertake/participate in projects for improvement in delivery quality and/or timeliness.  
  • Identify and reduce manual processes for enhanced operational control. Support and implement technology up gradation
  • Continually raising the risks that have been identified / observed in department processes and procedures.
  • Support audit process and recommendations on a timely manner
  • Perform the fund’s activities correctly as per the SOP, Checklist and controls.

To be successful you will:

Functional Knowledge

  • Commerce graduate or post graduate with 1 - 2 years working experience into Financial Reporting of similar industry.
  • Professional qualification in the fields of Accounting like CA, ICWA, CFA and CS will have added advantage.
  • Strong Accounting Concepts with a clear understanding of financial statements.
  • Understanding of the Accounting Standards and the ability to relate them to the disclosures in the Financial Statements. Exposure to IFRS and US GAAP will be desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of various types of assets, Funds Administration and accounting services and understanding of valuations cycle, financial instruments, corporate actions and accounting concepts.
  • Fair understanding of investment instruments and their usage is expected.

  • Basic MS Excel and MS Word skills.
  • An analytical mind to analyze and understand the transactions.
  • Willingness to learn and go for an extra mile when required
  • Good communication skill.
  • A Proactive mindset to pick up tasks being asked to.
