We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Credit And Capital Management - Monitoring, Junior Associate.

In this role, you will:

  • Complete the Assurance & Transaction Testing activities for CCM data processes in line with S166 testing. Must be able to understand the key attributes in-line with S166 testing for securities, Review & remediate at a security level the data errors in key attributes.
  • Review & execute testing procedures, including calculating the impact of the issues across the portfolio and this includes transaction level reviews, to ensure they are properly aligned with the report line items and regulatory instructions.
  • Ensure all testing artifacts, control assessments, issue finding, and remediation action maintain proper records for audits, compliance and traceability in accordance with internal standards. Proactively identify problem situations and resolve to give maximum customer satisfaction and Escalate where necessary.
  • Record, track, and provide assurance around management self-identified issues to ensure compliance with internal audit criteria. Ensure Appropriate measures are taken to improve and sustain high quality and prevent recurrence
  • Complete the targeted testing of identified data-related risks within the CCM processes, tracking progress of interim solutions and processes. Collaborate with CCM regional Operations and Finance teams to review and improve controls on prioritized data quality issues.
  • Implement data quality assurance processes. Facilitate the maintenance of a robust data risk and control environment through qualitative analysis, governance reporting, and incident management.
  • Ensuring compliance with HSBC Group company policies and procedures, including PRA S166 regulatory requirements. Adhering to all appropriate procedures & enhancing existing policies to improve controls.
  • Regular implementation and review of audit and diary watch procedures to give effective feedback to Management. Establish effective framework for implementing Operational Risk Management across teams and the center. Prepare plans to mitigate Operational Risk in line with company policy. Ensure timely MI’s, which fully and accurately represents achievement of key business deliverables.
  • Take accountability for data quality and look to identify opportunities to improve reporting.  Help develop and implement a targeted testing operating model to support interim solutions.
  • Contribute SME knowledge and encourage the adoption of new ways of working, such as Agile, particularly in respect of change activities. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders in operations, Finance & Technology support teams to improve data reporting accuracy.

To be successful, you will:

  • Experience in Audit or Assurance is preferred. Experience in Credit and Lending is preferred.
  • Experience in Regulatory reporting is preferred. Sound Accounting Knowledge (E).
  • Understanding of Commercial Banking Products and Securities (E). Knowledge/prior experience of Middle/ Back Office activities (E).
  • Proficiency in using appropriate sampling techniques to ensure testing is efficient, risk-based, and statistically representative. Capability in data reconciliation and analysis to compare data across sources and identify breaks, variances, and errors that indicate a control failure.
  • The ability to understand the complex journey of data from systems through the CCM process to the final regulatory report. Understand security validation process & key attributes impacting regulatory reporting downstream.
  • Understanding of Basel III Framework Collateral, Credit Risk Mitigation and Collateral Eligibility and Management. Ability to write business letters and reports (E).
  • Ability to derive insight from large amounts of data from diverse sources. (E)
  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce Stream, MBA, MBA Finance, MCom. Strong knowledge of Credit products.
  • Working Knowledge of Corporate Credit Operations which includes Pre and Post Approval process.
  • Good knowledge of the HSBC Group – organization, culture & policies. Proven track record of performance within HSBC or industry.
