We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Commercial Cards Product Manager.
In this role, you will:
- Data analysis, validation and reporting of product performance, including definition and tracking of Key Performance Indicators such as spend across each of our markets and products and submission of spend reports to the scheme partners.
- Develop and maintain global tracking and reporting of all fees that are charged to HSBC commercial cards by Visa and Mastercard. The role will be responsible for analyzing fees that have been charged to HSBC in each market, to ensure we pay only for the services that we use, add value to our business and to continually optimize the usage of these services.
- The role will also track and validate rebates received from partners and will liaise with finance & product teams in individual markets to ensure the rebates have been received and captured against the correct G/L accounts and cost centers in a timely manner.
- Identify risks, analyse trends and translate them into actionable insights. Work closely with the regional and global product team to develop and execute on key actions and initiatives to deliver best value for money spent with the scheme partners.
- Conducting research and benchmarking of performance with the scheme partners and drive continuous improvement. The role will also involve creating simulations to help drive down costs and increase rebates.
- Drive effective interaction across geographies and work with our regional and in country cards teams to support the execution on relevant actions with the scheme partners.
- The role requires interaction with numerous entities on a Global basis in way that creates confidence and ensures buy-in while giving clear guidance and input on data and analysis relating to scheme partners.
- Ensure adherence to governance and compliance requirements.
- Maintain a robust and efficient control environment across the product set to ensure good operational and financial compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise.
- Essential characteristics of the role include experience, collaboration, influence, a desire and an appetite to challenge and effect sustainable change.
To be successful, you will:
- Expertise in data analytics and business management. 8 plus years of hands-on analytics experience solving complex business problems using data.
- Strong understanding of card schemes, familiarity with interchange, assessments and fees.
- Good understanding of Commercial cards products and flows and awareness of spend management, reporting and reconciliation.
- Proven experience of leading the delivery of initiatives, with effective outcome and performance tracking focus.
- A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences.
- Excellent visualisation and presentation skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of and curiosity about technology and its impact on design solutions.
- A strong team player. Self-starter with an agile approach, who can work well independently as well as in a team environment.
