Role Purpose:
Finance Transformation’s structure ensures that we are well positioned to deliver against our commitments and enables us to be fully integrated and aligned, both within our function and with the stakeholders we serve. We built on the progress we’ve made on embedding new ways of working to further enhance our Finance Value Stream structure and coordination, and to enable valuable synergies over the governance of our Transformation and Regulatory Excellence book of work.
Own and deliver change initiatives impacting Capital and Statistical Regulatory Reporting (e.g., new/changed regulations, control enhancements, data/technology change), ensuring compliant outcomes, strong governance, and minimal disruption to BAU (Business as Usual) reporting.
This role focuses on timely, high-quality delivery aligned to global regulatory requirements, strong business process controls, and automation objectives, while strengthening the India change leadership capability and owning offshore delivery for assigned initiatives.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Programme leadership: Facilitate cross-functional transformation initiatives across Finance, Technology, and third parties, helping team navigate complex decisions aligned to the Finance Transformation Strategy and HSBC’s values.
- Organisational design: Support the development of target structures, roles, and resource requirements for transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment to organisational goals and enabling high-performing teams.
- Change delivery: Help coordinate delivery across workstreams, adapting to changing priorities and keeping stakeholders aligned to agreed outcomes, benefits, and timelines.
- Agile ways of working: Monitor deliverables using Agile methodologies (QBRs (Quarterly Business review), PI (Program Increment) events, governance) and drive the transformation operating model and roadmaps to deliver organisational goals.
- Optimised operating model: Enhance the operating model through automation and front-to-back process improvements, driving sustainable adoption and benefits realisation.
- Digital acceleration: Drive activities that promote the adoption of technology solutions to support the simplification and automation agenda.
- Support to deliver budget and headcount control and governance globally across Finance Transformation.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of how Finance functions (capital, Liquidity, Treasury, FP& A (Financial Planning and Analysis) are structured and governed, and how to simplify roles, decision rights, and ways of working in a regulated environment.
- Proven experience delivering large, cross-functional programmes with multiple stakeholders, clear milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience connecting business needs to process redesign and technology enablement (e.g., automation, workflow, data/MI (Management Information) to drive efficiency and adoption.
- Excellent financial business knowledge across Capital, Treasury and Liquidity.
- Ability to work in a complex matrix organization.
- Self-motivated and capable of leading and achieving results with a team.
- Ability to bring clarity and apply rigor and process.
- Attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel (Pivot tables, macros), PowerPoint experience, (Mandatory).
- Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Creative approach to problem solving and outcome-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities.
- The ability to work with diverse and geographically dispersed business teams.
- Flexible worker who demonstrates adaptability.
- Ability and willingness to get involved in the Analysis activities and documentation.
