We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Stress Testing, Global Treasury.

 

Purpose of the role

The role holder will be supporting the Scenario Analysis team within (Global Treasury / Stress Testing). The person in this role is expected to perform and lead data-driven analysis, develop analytical frameworks and tools and manage models. The person will play a key part in using the power of data to solve problems, improve efficiency and generate actionable insights to support the business operations within Finance. The person will work closely with Finance stakeholders, Data and Analytics teams and IT teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions for various use cases.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the Analytics Lead for Stress testing team, collaborate closely with Business Partners to deliver insightful, data-driven solutions that support strategic decisions and enhance business performance.
  • Execution of Balance Sheet projections, Net Interest Income, Net fee Income and other financial metrics models using quantitative techniques and analytical tools.
  • Preparation of MI templates and socialization of results with group and regional stakeholders and generate insightful commentaries on portfolio impacts.
  • Address technically challenging regulatory and senior HSBC stakeholder’s requests regarding financial metrics projections using advanced quantitative techniques.
  • Contribute and participate in developing analytical tools and models to provide insights into bank’s performance and financial outcomes for internal strategic planning or stress testing. Collaborate across teams to test and implement solutions.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on modelling and reporting standards.
  • Drive standardization and simplification across functions and track their effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to deliver impactful business intelligence, support strategic initiatives, and enable executive decision-making.

 

To be successful you will:

  • A degree in MBA with bachelor’s in engineering / master’s degree in economics, Mathematics, Statistics or other numerical discipline, with relevant analytics experience.
  • 7+ years (with Master’s) or 9+ years (with Bachelor’s) professional experience in financial services or consulting.
  • Proven experience in analytics for banking, including risk, stress testing, and forecasting Relevant experience in fields like NII analytics, Balance Sheet forecasting, Credit Risk & Basel, Stress testing etc.
  • Hands-on experience developing and deploying analytical, financial, statistical, and/or machine learning models.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and advanced analytics tool proficiency (SAS, SQL, R, Python, Qlik Sense, etc.). Strong commercial acumen with deep knowledge of banking products, financial drivers, P&L, and ratios.
  • Excellent quantitative aptitude and understanding of data architecture, finance, and accounting systems – ability to work with large, complex datasets. Experience designing and maintaining control frameworks to ensure high-quality, repeatable deliverables.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills. Track record of process improvement, governance, and leveraging technology for automation and insights.
