We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Non-Financial Risk
In this role, you will:
- As part of the Global Research Non Financial Risk team based in Bangalore, the Assistant Vice President will work closely with other NFR team members and Senior management in ensuring effective control environment in respect of key risks.
- The role will deliver on risk governance and control related priorities in a well-organized, effective, and collaborative manner. The position includes responsibilities related to a variety of regulatory risks, operational and resilience risks, legal and model risks and other risk specialisms.
- Develop strong understanding of their respective business area including business policies, procedures and NFR reporting systems. Be responsible for accurate and timely deliveries of their respective deliverables which will mainly cover performing and supervising assigned risks and controls related activities, and NFR projects.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators, including Data Quality reporting and Management Information into relevant governance forums, and engage with owners as appropriate. Complete analytical assessments and opine on the business risks and controls environment within Research business.
- Supervise and deliver control effectiveness assessments and CMAs that are accurate, effective, timely and meets group quality control requirements. Use experience and knowledge to intervene, enhance and redirect controls testing as required, resolving, or redirecting escalations as required.
- Act as SME and trusted advisor for the Senior Management on effective management of non-financial risks (such as RC, FC, Legal, ORR and Change execution risks) and all related items (e.g. risk assessments, control environment, issues management, address challenges raised by 2LOD, compliance testing and assurance reviews).
- Be responsible to create NFR Governance reporting papers, minutes, and actions to provide qualitative analysis and insight and high quality reporting to senior management to accurately reflect the risk and control landscape.
- Assist VP in driving process efficiencies in their team and proactively discuss changes to make the processes more robust and efficient. Ensure documented procedures and guides remain current and are aligned to the processes taking place.
- Work on various adhoc projects based on priorities as decided by the VP and global team heads.Contribute to team management including recruitment, mentoring and wider initiatives under the guidance of VP. Assist Research management by undertaking various projects.
To be successful you will:
- Strong interpersonal and team management skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with proficiency in their respective areas
- Strong verbal / written communication with the ability to articulate ideas and thoughts in a structured manner.
- Advanced level of MS-office skills (Excel, Word, and Power-point)
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience and qualification in Compliance/Risk and Controls assessments would be an advantage.
