We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Global Markets
In this role, you will:
- Development of new models to support Equity Index change predictions, passive flows analysis and corporate actions impact for index trackers
- Create automated processes for systematic data capture and presentation of index analysis to trading desks. Participate in ongoing infrastructure projects and assess new product related automation needs and assist in delivery of business intelligence tools.
- Internal Clients: Networks, develops and nurtures relationships with key stakeholders in Program Trading, Electronic trading, High touch and Delta One businesses, anticipates and identifies their needs
- Internal Collaboration: Develops close and effective working relationships within respective Regions/ Countries/Functions /Global Businesses
- Suggest ideas and contribute to implementing actions that will improve customer service, quality or the way teams and individuals work together.
- Adhere to HSBC policy, procedures and control requirements applicable to day-to-day working, exceptional and project activities, and raise any concerns about actual or potential issues promptly, in line with reporting and escalation procedures.
- Apply policies, procedures, practices and standards to their allocated tasks, taking responsibility for their own actions, to ensure the achievement of high levels of quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Support achievement of the HSBC vision, Values, goals and culture in personal behavior, actions and decision making. Take personal responsibility for understanding and agreeing performance expectations, completing the necessary mandatory training and developing the levels of capability and competence needed to be effective in the role.
- Contribute to team development, effectiveness and success by sharing knowledge and good practice, working collaboratively with others to create a productive, diverse and supportive working environment.
To be successful you will:
- Experience using Python, Excel Macros, Q (kdb)
- Experience handling the infrastructure needs for quants with focus on automation and data analytics
- Direct experience of modelling index predictions for global and regional indices. Strong knowledge of methodology for MSCI, FTSE, and regional indices
- University degree in quantitative field or finance
- Demonstrable experience analysing corporate events and presenting index analysis and trading ideas to clients.
- Experience working with Bloomberg, Eikon and Factset
- Knowledge of portfolio and optimization and risk analysis a plus
