We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President – Data Privacy.
In this role, you will:
- Analyze and translate business need into long-term data solutions. Formulate and govern a central Business Data Glossary used across the enterprise. Develop, maintain and optimize meta-models for data supporting key processes.
- Deliver conceptual and logical data model using HSBC’s Metadata methodology. Documentation of data standards and Business Rules.
- Extend strategic support towards HSBC’s Data Management Policy and Framework through data governance services. Build self-service visualization capabilities using RDF Knowledge Graph to derive insights.
- Advice and guide business and IT stakeholders using Knowledge Graph to establish Lineage and determine Trusted Sources. Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements for metadata governance and coordinate meetings with SMEs / Data Governors.
- On-board critical data sets to establish Governance framework using group strategic tools – COLLIBRA. Coordinate engagement with Business and IT teams to provide support on analysis and documentation of metadata.
- Contribute towards the quantifiable process improvement goals of the team. Adhere to the Group Values of being Dependable, Open and Connected. Ensure personal integrity and adherence to established HSBC policy on conduct, compliance, and Resilience Risk
- Completion of necessary functional training and Group/ Region Mandated Trainings related to the process. Deliver functional trainings and also attend Soft Skills based on PDP.
To be successful you will:
- 8+ years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s or master’s degree from reputed university with specialization in numerical discipline and concentration in computer science, information systems or other engineering specializations.
- Knowledge of Conceptual/Logical Data Modelling, exposure to Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality assessment and controls implementation using Collibra.
- Should possess advanced knowledge of Data Modelling and Metadata management. Understanding Graph Database / Knowledge Graph is desirable. Detail knowledge of data management framework – data governance, data privacy, business architecture and data quality.
- Knowledge and understanding of financial services/ banking-operations in a Global Bank.Understanding of accounting principles, data flows and regulatory landscape – BCBS239, B3R, CCAR, IFRS9 etc.
- Familiarity of implementing data management with one of the following frameworks – DAMA / TOGAF / FIBO / EDM
- Strong analytical skills with business analysis aptitude.Ability to comprehend intricate and diverse range of business problems and analyse them with limited or complex data and provide a feasible solution framework. Experience on working on Data/Information Management projects of varying complexities.
