We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President Compensation Services
Purpose of the role
As a Consultant (Assistant Vice President) in the Group Performance & Reward team, you’ll play a key role in supporting HSBC’s global compensation strategy. You’ll be responsible for the effective execution of annual performance and pay-review cycles, ensuring processes run smoothly and in line with Group guidelines and HR policies. This is a hands-on role, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and contribute to HSBC’s commitment to a diverse, equitable, and high-performing workplace.
In this role, you will:
- Annual Review Process Execution – Oversee end‑to‑end performance‑management & pay‑review cycles globally (data prep, reporting, validation, exception handling) and ensure data accuracy & integrity in compensation processes.
- Mission Control & Forum Support – Coordinate & follow‑up on Mission Control calls for timely resolution of actions across global teams and prepare impactful presentations for forums to enable strategic decision‑making.
- Content Review & Enhancement – Review & refine articles, guidelines & FAQs for clarity, consistency & relevance; develop user‑friendly resources that simplify compensation processes for employees & managers worldwide.
- Data Insights & Analytics – Deliver actionable insights via advanced data analysis to help stakeholders interpret trends & make evidence‑based decisions; coordinate market‑benchmarking activities for accurate & timely delivery.
- Risk Management & Controls – Ensure strong risk‑management frameworks & controls are in place for all critical processes, maintain policy compliance & reduce operational risks; support audits & uphold data‑integrity & confidentiality standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration – Build effective relationships with HR partners, consultants & global teams for seamless cross‑functional collaboration; collaborate with reward SMEs to drive process simplification & continuous improvement.
- Project Support & Change Management – Support implementation of key performance & reward projects, working with functional teams to deliver on‑time & to quality standards; communicate process changes to ensure understanding & adoption.
- People Management & Team Leadership – Lead & manage teams, coach & motivate members to achieve objectives; foster an inclusive, collaborative environment that encourages diverse perspectives & professional growth.
To be successful you will:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in HR, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field.
- Extensive HR background with deep expertise in Reward/Compensation processes (global or regional).
- Proven track record of leading complex projects & influencing senior stakeholders in a matrix organization.
- Advanced MS Excel & analytical tools; experience with visualization & reporting platforms is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving & consultative abilities with clear communication.
- Ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments & adapt to evolving business needs.
- Strong relationship management & communication for multicultural, multi‑country teams.
- Experience driving organizational change; high emotional intelligence to foster an inclusive, high‑performance culture.
