We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Director - Data and Analytics
In this role, you will:
- Act as a subject matter expert and consultant, conceptualising analytical solutions for business problems across multiple businesses and regions, with strong International Wealth and Personal Banking domain knowledge to translate business questions into key performance indicators and insights.
- Own end-to-end analytics delivery on Google Cloud Platform, using expert Structured Query Language with Google BigQuery for data profiling, complex joins, optimisation, and governed data sourcing and transformation through to stakeholder-ready outputs
- Use Python programming for analytics and automation, including pandas and numpy, reproducible notebooks, and basic modelling where needed to accelerate insight generation.
- Build business intelligence dashboards and insight narratives using Looker and Qlik Sense, defining metrics and communicating findings through clear storytelling and visual design for senior audiences.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to shape requirements, manage expectations, drive data driven decisions, and lead and mentor team members through coaching and on-the-job training in a matrix environment.
- Continually reassess operational risk and demonstrate strong internal controls and compliance by following relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records, implementing audit actions, applying data quality checks and governance practices, and embedding generative artificial intelligence into analytics workflows with appropriate quality controls and guardrails.
To be successful you will:
- Minimum 6 to 12 years of relevant experience, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputed university in a numerical discipline with concentration in computer science, information systems, or engineering.
- Experience working within unsecured lending in a role such as product management, finance, analytics, or credit risk, with the ability to frame complex business problems into feasible solution approaches.
- Strong programming and analytical tooling capability, with proficiency in one or more of Statistical Analysis System, Structured Query Language, Visual Basic for Applications, Unix, Qlik, Tableau, R programming language, Python programming language, and other business intelligence tools and data technologies across Unix, mainframe, or Windows platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud computing on Google Cloud Platform, data modelling, Adobe Analytics, and exposure to data quality assessment and control, including delivery on data and information management projects of varying complexity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and communicate complex concepts clearly and maintain effective interaction with the team, direct manager, and onshore business partners. - Proven stakeholder management and collaboration skills, able to work across business groups and cross-functional teams to build end-to-end solutions and evaluate emerging techniques that enhance analytical capabilities and computational models.
