We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Analyst
Principal responsibilities
- The purpose of the role is to help generate high-quality, institutional-grade research in digital-assets, including cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and tokenized assets.
- Drive research coverage on digital-assets, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain-based financial instruments for institutional investors, corporate clients, government authorities, regulators et al.
- Monitor developments of DeFi, stablecoins, tokenized assets, and blockchain infrastructure, ensuring stakeholders remain informed of relevant trends and risks.
- Produce high-quality, data-backed insights on market trends and themes including regulatory developments, adoption of digital-assets, tradFi/DeFi relationships, and cross-border payments.
- Track news in the digital-assets space and share views/opinions on possible impacts on this space
Global Risk and Compliance
Global risk objective
- Understand and adhere to both the letter and the spirit of all laws, regulations and regulatory guidance that apply to the role, promptly reporting any breaches in accordance with local procedures.
- Maintain sufficient and effective processes and controls identifying and mitigating risks and ensure timely escalation and resolution of all control issues and reputation risks
Compliance
- DIM/FIM: Adherence to Global Investment Research’s policies and procedures as laid out in the Desk Instruction Manual (DIM), Functional Instruction Manual (FIM) and any other relevant group policies and procedures
- Conduct Risk: Adherence to: (1) the Conduct Risk agenda, ensuring full compliance with the High Performance Culture and Values programme; (2) Group directives regarding Global Standards; (3) the Three Lines of Defence
- Mandatory Training: Ensure 100% completion of your mandatory training on time
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or economics
- Candidates with a graduate degree in quantitative disciplines such as math, science, engineering, computer science can also apply provided there is at least 2 years of experience in financial research
Skill Set
- Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and the ability of connect disparate elements to form coherent thematic narratives.
- Strong understanding of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology and the digital-asset ecosystem, including market structure, custody, trading and token economics.
- Prior experience in financial research (sell-side, buy-side or independent research)
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting digital-assets globally (eg. MiCA, GENIUS ACT, Clarity Act).
- Strong written and verbal communications, capable of producing research reports which are client-facing. Comfort with data visualisation and presentation of research findings.
Experience
- Minimum 5-8 years in a related field within Financial Services
- Understanding of financial markets and various asset classes is a must
