We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President, Analysis, Risk Analysis and Discovery 

Location : Bangalore/Hyderabad

Principle Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and support a proactive approach being taken in the identification of any changes in the financial crime risk profile and potential impact on the control framework.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across RAD teams globally, and have a sound understanding of how RAD processes and outputs support the wider Financial Crime function through engagement with Investigations, Detection and Risk Steward colleagues – across Group, Regional and CoE based teams. Apply the same skillset to developing strong working relationships with partners in the Global businesses.Liaise with relevant stakeholders to provide expertise, guidance and support on all financial crime related matters handled by RAD.
  • Ensure appropriate timely and relevant risk information is provided to appropriate governance fora. Manage the sharing of information and creation of feedback loops across the firm to continuously adapt and improve our financial crime controls and support the business in their first line responsibilities.
  • Support the delivery and developing of expertise across the RAD programme relating to exiting and emerging FC risks including the identification and analysis of such risks, integration of analytics and data science, analysis and research with a view to continuously evolve the RAD capability.
  • Proactively support the delivery of an outcome focused approach to deliver a seamless integration of cross-regional and functional expertise.
  • Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with colleagues in Financial Crime, Business and Risk and Compliance colleagues and Financial Crime Risk Stewards at Group, Regional and CoE level.
  • Support in the creation of an environment for the delivery of consistent performance measurement, training, career management and succession planning across the function
  • Assist in the consistent sharing of developments relating to existing and emerging risks and best practice across the wider RAD capability.Ensure development activities are a core priority and take reasonable time for learning and developmental activities including productive use of Personal Development Plans and appropriate follow up.
  • Resolve any/all identified issues promptly and escalate concerns to management as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of any material concerns.Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement relevant policies, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal / external auditors and external regulators.
  • The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing FC threats, geopolitical, economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology. Monitor in accordance with the Principal Accountabilities set out above.The jobholder will ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation
  • The jobholder is required to work within the RAD CoE- Risk Analysis function and assist with establishing the policies and procedures of the Group in managing these risks.  This can involve dealing with major issues for which there is no clear-cut solution whilst still being able to provide judgment and clear direction.  Under the oversight of the Senior Manager, RAD COE - Risk Analysis, the role holder is required to support the identification and delivery of existing and emerging risks for Financial Crime to inform controls to protect our business, our customers, and the many communities in which we operate, from the harms associated with financial crime

Qualifications : 

  • Bachelor’s degree holder (or equivalent) with proven analytical and problem-solving skills, preferably with experience applying these at a strategic level in the field of financial crime.
  • Experience in research and critical analysis of information, working with a range of sources to develop actionable insights.
  • Knowledge and/or background in financial crime or macro themes that impact the financial crime landscape, such as geopolitics or digitisation.
  • A curious and agile mind, able to engage on a wide range of issues and acquire new knowledge.
  • Self-starter with an ability to take ownership and drive projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Able to draft high quality reports for senior readers with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A flair for building relationships and willingness to proactively engage with stakeholders across the organisation to gather information and influence outcomes.
  • A degree of comfort with data. Numeracy and excel competence are essential.Knowledge/ Background in Data visualization and Analytics will be preferred.
