We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of ASSISTANT DIRECTOR , INNOVATION
Principal responsibilities
- Strong understanding of business domain, functional goals, and the required technical expertise across multiple regions. Makes decisions, even with ambiguous /incomplete data at a pace that balances the need for further analysis and the need for timely decision given business priorities / requirements.
- Translate key analytical solutions as generic and re-deployable across regions / markets. Drive redeployment of the solutions
- Provide actionable analytical solutions for unstructured business problems. Communicates across all levels and with senior executives.
- Work closely with each business area to deliver specific solutions for each business bottom-line.
- Lead analytical projects and/or statistical models to include project design, data collection, database design, analysis, and presentation of results.
- Act as an SME/consultant, conceptualise analytical solution for the business problem at hand for multiple businesses/regions.
- Implementing advanced data management and governance practices
- Ability to independently deliver without any handholding and effective project management and closure with documented evidence.
- Complete other related duties as assigned and support the Company’s Diversity programs.
- Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable. Take timely action on Audit comments and be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls.

- Ability to define, communicate, and execute a clear analytical vision that aligns with business objectives and inspires the team
- Strong ability to communicate complex analytical concepts and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, tailoring messaging to different audiences and driving consensus.
- Proven ability to navigate organizational complexities and drive collaboration across disparate teams to achieve common goals.
- Capability to identify and frame ambiguous, complex, and high-impact business problems, transforming them into well-defined analytical projects with clear objectives and success metrics.
- Leadership in developing innovative and strategic solutions that address root causes and deliver sustainable improvements.
- Experience in setting clear performance metrics, managing team deliverables, and ensuring accountability for analytical outcomes
Qualifications:
- Strategic Data & Analytics Leadership (must-have):
- Deep expertise in designing and implementing end-to-end analytical solutions that drive significant business impact across diverse operational domains (Fraud, Collections, Underwriting, Credit Bureau).
- Ability to identify and champion strategic analytical initiatives that align with broader business objectives and deliver measurable ROI.
- Advanced understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes within the financial services sector to proactively guide analytical efforts.
- Experience in managing and optimizing the full lifecycle of analytical models, from conceptualization and development to deployment, monitoring, and recalibration in a production environment.
- Programming & Big Data Ecosystems (must-have):
- Strong programming skills in at least two of the following: SAS, Python, R, SQL, Java - Spring Boot, ReactJS, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, Power BI, or similar platforms (Specific to the role)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Azure) and/or big data ecosystems (e.g., Hadoop).
- Proficiency with GCP tools like DataProc, BigQuery or similar technologies on other platforms.
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Spark and Hive SQL (Good to have)
- Exposure to best coding practices and optimization techniques
Applicable to Operations Analytics & Reporting and Visualization roles only
- Demonstrated success in leveraging analytics to significantly reduce fraud losses, improve collections efficiency, optimize underwriting profitability, or enhance credit bureau management effectiveness.
- Experience in developing and implementing advanced reporting, dashboards, and visualization strategies that provide actionable insights to executive leadership.
- Proven ability to translate complex analytical findings into compelling business narratives and strategic recommendations for senior management and external stakeholders.
Applicable to Data Science roles only
- Leadership in the selection, development, and deployment of advanced statistical and machine learning models (e.g., deep learning, reinforcement learning, advanced NLP) for complex operational problems.
- Expertise in designing robust A/B testing frameworks and experimentation methodologies to validate strategies and measure impact at scale.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship on complex modelling challenges, ensuring methodological rigor and analytical soundness
- Exposure to Generative AI: Understanding of Generative AI concepts, large language models (LLMs), and their potential applications in areas within operational analytics.
Applicable to Product Development roles only
- Fraud & Credit Risk Management: Deep understanding of various fraud schemes, prevention methodologies, and comprehensive knowledge of credit risk assessment across the entire credit lifecycle.
- Intelligent Automation & Smart Operations: Practical knowledge of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and broader Smart Operations concepts (integrating AI/ML) for optimizing efficiency, accuracy, and proactive risk management within financial processes.
- Operational Systems & Data Analytics: Proficiency with core financial operational systems, fraud detection platforms, and leveraging data analytics for monitoring, investigation, and informed decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Applies to all roles
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience in Data Analytics / Operation analytics/ Work-force management/ Capacity Planning / Statistical modelling & Machine Learning / Visualization & Dashboarding / Java - Web Development.
- Familiarity with financial services and banking operations (must have)
- Operations Analytics and Reporting Role - Postgraduate degree in quantitative disciplines (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science).
- Data Science Role - Graduate / Postgraduate with experience in data science specializing in a relevant field such Machine Learning, Data Mining, Text Mining, Artificial intelligence/Computer Science, NLP and deep learning
- Product Development & Visualization Role - Graduate / Postgraduate in information systems or other engineering specializations or equivalent.
