We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Risk and Compliance Technology MX and LAM                                                                                                                                                             

Role Purpose:

The Head of Risk & Compliance Technology Mexico and Latin Aerica is responsible to the regional Risk and Compliance Technology Head, Global Risk & Compliance Chief Information Officer (CIO), as well as the Head of Americas and Mexico Tech Centre to ensure the effective delivery of technology services in the region.  This position will play an important role in enabling operational resilience of our current estate global Risk & Compliance Technology solutions as well as help to build our delivery capability of global solutions for all markets from the Mexico Tech Centre.  In addition, this position maintains direct relationship with the business at regional level, acting as a trusted advisor and offering advice and support to the GB/GF Regional Business Unit, the Regional CIO, and the Global Banking / Global Function (GB/GF) Chief Operations Officer to define and ensure the GB/GF Technology portfolio and IT service.

Main Activities

This role will carry out some or all the following activities:

  • Provide consultancy & support to effectively deliver of Risk and Compliance Technology services in the entity.
  • Ensure that all market demand is captured and effectively prioritized within the Risk and Compliance global portfolio.
  • Provide support on direct cost, headcount management, and annual planning for market teams.
  • Ensure the daily execution of applications in accordance with the standards, controls, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), defined with the business, measuring, and communicating the results.
  • Promote responsible risk governance, ethical risk management, policy communication, and compliance with regulatory processes.
  • Provide status of issues related to critical IT incidents for Risk and Compliance applications consumed in the region. Support regional CIOs, when necessary, on issues related to relevant regulations and relations with the Board at a regional level.
  • Responsible for collaborating and providing support with peer market Heads, Risk and Compliance stakeholders, and other senior Technology Personnel to implement Risk & Compliance Technology objectives in the LAM region within entity, policy, spend, and regulatory constraints.
  • Responsible for providing support on building and nurturing a world-class engineering practice capability to attract, develop and retain Technology talent.
  • Encourage and promote development of technical skills and ongoing training for Risk and Compliance Technology staff in the region.
  • Responsible for implementing the LAM Risk & Compliance applications Roadmap in agreement with all areas, local, regional, and global. Drive continuous improvement and adoption of global technology solutions.

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) metrics, cloud services (AWS/GCP), programming languages (Python, Java, React, API frameworks), and Generative AI.
  • Strong experience in data management platforms (Cloudera, BigQuery), CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools (Ansible, Jenkins), monitoring solutions (AppDynamics, Splunk), and open telemetry standards.
  • Proven track record of leading technology teams in infrastructure, software delivery, or technical management roles, with proficiency in project management (Agile, PMO), budget oversight (Capex, Opex, forecasting), and technology controls (SDLC, deployment, data, security). Skilled in leveraging metrics and KPIs to drive productivity.
  • Exceptional relationship management capabilities, with experience managing global and international stakeholders, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering impactful executive presentations.
  • Experience with Risk and Compliance processes is highly advantageous.
