Job description

If you’re looking for a career where you can make a real impression, join our Global Service Center (GSC)- HSBC and discover how valued you’ll be.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of

Financial Planning & Analysis Manager - CIB

Role purpose

Lead the CIB FP&A consolidation capability from the Mexico City Global Service Center, producing consolidated planning, forecasting, performance reporting and executive insights across CIB (and relevant sub-dimensions such as geography, product, entity, function and cost type). Ensure consistent methodology, strong control environment, and a clear performance narrative to support decision-making by senior Finance and CIB stakeholders.

Key accountabilities

1) CIB consolidation ownership (actuals, plan, forecast)

  • Own the end-to-end FP&A consolidation process for CIB, including aggregation, validation, analysis and submission of consolidated outputs across agreed dimensions (e.g., revenues, costs, headcount, key KPIs).
  • Develop and maintain consolidation methodologies, assumptions and driver frameworks, ensuring consistent application across contributing teams/regions.
  • Manage consolidation calendars, dependencies and deliverables across monthly/quarterly reporting and planning cycles.

2) Performance management, MI and storytelling

  • Deliver consolidated monthly/quarterly MI packs and executive dashboards: actuals vs plan/forecast/prior year, drivers, sensitivities, and forward-looking outlook.
  • Provide consolidated variance analysis and bridge commentary (e.g., volume/price/mix where relevant; run-rate vs initiatives; FX impacts; timing; one-offs).
  • Identify trends and outliers across regions/products; escalate risks and propose actions.

3) Governance, controls and data quality

  • Enforce a robust control framework for consolidation outputs (reconciliations, tie-outs, reasonableness checks, version control, audit trail).
  • Partner with Financial Control, Product Control (where applicable), and MI/Systems teams to ensure data integrity and to resolve breaks between source systems and FP&A views.
  • Maintain clear documentation: process maps, RACI, assumptions logs, and standard operating procedures to ensure resilience and smooth handovers.

4) Stakeholder management across a global footprint

  • Act as the primary FP&A consolidation point of contact for CIB Finance stakeholders across geographies, including onshore finance teams, regional FP&A leads and central finance.
  • Lead working sessions to align assumptions, resolve submission issues, and drive consistency of narrative and commentary standards.
  • Support senior management requests (deep dives, ad-hoc analysis, board/committee materials) with pace and accuracy.

5) Continuous improvement and automation

  • Drive standardisation and simplification of the consolidation process to reduce manual effort and cycle times.
  • Identify opportunities for automation (templates, controlled inputs, automated checks, dashboarding) and implement improvements in partnership with MI/technology teams.
  • Define and track service KPIs for the GSC consolidation service (timeliness, accuracy, rework rate, stakeholder satisfaction).

Requirements

Essential

  • Strong FP&A experience in financial services; proven consolidation experience across multiple inputs, entities, or geographies.
  • Advanced financial analysis, variance/bridge building, and driver-based planning.
  • Strong control mindset: ability to validate data, challenge inputs, and maintain audit-ready processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management across time zones; confident, clear written commentary.
  • Strong prioritisation and delivery under tight timelines.

Desirable

  • Experience operating in a service-centre / hub model supporting onshore stakeholders.
  • Experience improving MI and consolidations through standardisation and automation.
  • Exposure to CIB business model and performance drivers.

Education / qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field (or equivalent experience).
