We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Vendor Compliance

Role Purpose:

Our technology teams work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. The creation of Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) has allowed us to build on our position as one of the world’s largest and fastest growing wealth franchises. Significant effort has already been made towards the WPB strategy to deliver exceptional products, service and experiences to our customers. As part of WPB, the Digital Platforms Enabler Value Stream (VS) act as a support to more than one other value stream. They provide shared, core and common capabilities and components which value streams can consume to achieve customer outcomes. Enabling WPB to offer our customers state of the art digital functionality – Bank in your pocket: evolving the current set of digital platforms and ecosystems into an entirely new realm of highly connected, contextualized digital experience to support variety of channels and devices, modalities across customer and colleague journeys - enabling the bank of the future. The Vendor Compliance team is responsible for managing the relationship with the app review teams at Apple / Google. The team maintains a detailed understanding of the standards and guidelines set by Apple / Google and ensures that our apps across HSBC comply with both the letter of the guidelines published by the vendors themselves (Apple / Google), and the spirit of our own internal guidelines. The team is proactive in analysing future changes that will be introduced by Apple / Google and ensuring that this translates into an evolving and constantly updated set of internal guidance shared with teams across HSBC to ensure a smooth approval processes for our mobile apps. The team also provides critical consultancy service for all Global Business/Global Functions, including CMB, HSBC.net, first direct, SABB, Trinkaus, Hang Seng, M&S and others covering over 200 mobile apps.

Main Activities:

Ensure our apps are in full compliance with vendor requirements at the point of app submission- you should have an excellent understanding of the standards set by Apple / Google
● Develop policies and practical guidance for mobile developers to work within
 ● Relationship management with vendors, driving strong relationships.
 ● Keep up to date with the vendor documentation, including their guidelines, policies, user interface standards, etc, and work with both the Controls and Legal teams within HSBC to develop, communicate and enforce an HSBC interpretation of the vendors’ requirements
● Provide consultancy to the teams developing mobile applications in HSBC

Qualifications Required:

 

Advanced knowledge of Agile methodology, having worked for 3+ years in an Agile environment and have a Safe qualification – Leading / Implementing Safe
● 5+ previous years’ experience in mobile / project management / relationship management
● Skilled at developing business and interpersonal relationships

 

What you will bring to the role: To be successful in this role you should have proven experience of the following:
● 5+ previous years’ experience in mobile / project management / relationship management Track record of being able to manage a large number of queries concurrently spanning across different business lines
● Experience in and detailed understanding of Mobile Banking applications – both commercial and retail on both iOS and Android, marketing applications, or other financial mobile apps
● Commercially aware and understands digital platforms, services and underlying processes to fulfil
● Ability to influence global teams and stakeholders and all levels
● Culturally sensitive and understanding of global and local customer needs
● Highly effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
● Able to work within a multi-jurisdictional and high velocity teams spread geographically
● Flexibility with working hours supporting global markets
● Able to build and sustain trusting relationships
● Be self-motivated and work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement
● Proven attention to detail
● Strong ability to balance risks vs. rewards and maximizing the cost effectiveness and profitability for the business
● Strong analytical skills, with an ability to interpret a range of types of documentation, and to produce clearly written and, where necessary, clearly illustrated documentation of your own
● Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across all 5 regions (North America, LATAM, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Europe)


Lenguage Level:

  • English level – Advanced English proficiency C1.
