Taking on the role of Portfolio Manager with our Global Network Banking (GNB) business, your focus will be to provide banking services to subsidiaries of CIB customers, delivering consistent, in-depth and dedicated coverage across the HSBC network with the goal of deepening our existing client relationships.  In doing so, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, whose headquarters bank with HSBC in other countries, targeting superior customer service and upselling to improve revenue growth.

 

Based in Auckland, this role will give you a great opportunity to broaden your corporate banking experience with a large internationally focused portfolio. This will provide you with new challenges, as you work across our full suite of commercial banking products as well as financial crime and credit risk management.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Developing effective strategies to manage customer relationships, anticipating customer needs and providing a superior quality service to position HSBC as the market leader in this segment.
  • Derive and execute a sales strategy for Inbound clients (new and existing), in conjunction with the Team Leader, generating leads, referrals and opportunities through excellent customer service.
  • Delivering a high quality service by owning customer engagement, striving for excellence in all interactions with customers or other professionals, and always acting according to the highest professional standards.
  • Establishing a close working relationship with the HSBC Compliance team and effectively manage AML risks.
  • Onboarding new clients and conducting annual reviews to ensure credit risks are effectively managed.
  • Growing sustainable revenues from the existing customer portfolio and through targeted onboarding of new customers.
  • Working collaboratively with other Global Businesses, Product and Service Partners to identify opportunities to connect customers to opportunities and strengthen existing relationships.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 

  • Demonstrated experience providing superior customer service, enabling you to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations, preferably in a commercial banking environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of customer due diligence processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with a strong commercial orientation.
  • The ability to build strong and lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders through excellent written and verbal communication skills and confident interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously without supervision.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.

 

Preference will be given to candidates who hold New Zealand or Australian Citizenship, New Zealand Permanent Residency, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in New Zealand without limitations.
