We are seeking an ambitious individual to join the Global Network Banking, UAE team in Abu Dhabi as an Associate Relationship Manager (ARM) to support the growing business and achieve divisional targets. 
This position is responsible for working with the Regional China Client Coverage team, with accountability for service, risk, sales and operational delivery to achieve highest customer satisfaction through pipeline, sales activity and customer service management.

 

 

In this role, you will:

 


•    Manage end-to-end credit application process including preparation of credit applications based on thorough analysis of the financial reports, research and other data sources / market intelligence.
•    Be responsible to assist China Client Coverage Bankers and deliver on CDD related process for respective portfolio.
•    Closely work with the China Client Coverage Bankers to increase revenues from existing and new to bank clients.
•    Assist the customer draw on the HSBC group network by working closely with other CMB sites and product groups like Global Trade Solutions, MSS, Global Payment Solutions. 
•    Structure appropriate credit facilities for the customer.
•    Maintain a proactive and appropriate calling program to service clients, ensuring senior management and key stakeholders for clients are contacted regularly.
•    Adopt and ensure fully effective utilization of all tools and systems provided by the bank to assist in service and sales delivery.
•    Keep abreast of external factors influencing international business e.g. economic, cultural, geographical, procedural and regulatory requirements
•    In discussion with Banker, develop effective strategies to manage customer relationships, anticipate customer needs and provide a superior quality service to position HSBC as the market leader in this segment.
•    Assist Banker to ensure timely and accurate maintenance of customer information, including Know your Customer (KYC) requirements, in Group systems.
•    Establish an effective working relationship with Risk Management teams, to validate the accuracy of the customer risk profile and ensure sustainable asset growth.
•    Deliver a high-quality service by owning customer engagement, striving for excellence in all interactions with (prospective) customers or other professionals, and always acting according to the highest professional standards.
•    Monitor and manage robust controls to ensure credit risk and other risks are adequately mitigated and appropriate timely action taken to minimize losses to the Bank.
•    Keep abreast with sustainability and assist in identifying, lead and deliver sustainability solutions supporting clients in their transition journey.
•    Ensure early identification of problem relationships and act, where there are potential and existing problem accounts to protect HSBC interests
•    Work in partnership with colleagues across the HSBC network to deliver exceptional standards and quality of service
•    Accountable for managing and timely execution of all operational queries, exceptions on the assigned portfolio, including but not limited to payments, transactions, inward cheque clearing, activity monitoring alerts etc.,
•    Maintain adequate controls on timely responses to queries from various stakeholders including reporting, responses on standard/adhoc returns 
•    Manage the processes needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximize end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency
•    Maintain a robust and efficient control environment across the business area to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
•    Assist the Bankers to maintain management information, analysis and reporting that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels on the portfolio

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

 

•    Language skills in spoken and written Mandarin and English is mandatory
•    Proven ability, with a successful record of accomplishment in risk management, operational and regulatory, credit analysis and judgmental lending
•    Honed analytical skills, with a strong emphasis on credit and operational risk
•    Visible and motivational leadership, ability to influence others
•    Excellent interpersonal skills, with a particular emphasis upon inspiring, influencing and negotiating in dealing with customers and colleagues
•    Ability to effectively plan and organize, with tenacity to drive through results
•    A graduation degree is essential for obtaining a UAE visa and work permit. If your university certificate is from outside the UAE, up-to-date attestations and equivalency are also mandatory (Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications Issued Outside The UAE).
