HSBC Agriculture Banking in the UK provides both domestic and international commercial banking services to our existing and prospective clients. Corporate Agriculture within HSBC UK includes serving our larger Agriculture customers, Landed Estates, Agribusiness, the food supply chain, and on farm Renewable Energy.
The role of the Agriculture Director is a full relationship management role to engage with our existing and prospective customers to help them realise their ambitions. Your key aim as an Agriculture Director with HSBC will be to operate as a person of influence to our customers with lending over £2,000,000 where you will also be responsible for customer service excellence to our existing and prospective customers. Customer portfolios will consist of largely domestic clients however, may have international relationships and will involve managing all aspects of the relationship including operational and credit risk. To be successful in this role you will create and maintain strong and evolving partnerships internally and externally.
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Agriculture Director
Your responsibilities as Agriculture Director will include:
- Develop a business growth strategy, identifying the most promising prospects and opportunities to expand your portfolio and broaden client relationships
- Engage with clients and prospects as a strategic partner, building trust and more fully developed and mutually beneficial relationships
- Build commercial credibility with clients and leverage a strong internal network to deliver appropriate, needs based solutions
- Protect the bank’s reputation and ensure an acceptable risk profile whilst deepening your understanding of the client through credit & customer due diligence reviews and wider Agricultural policies and changes in the marketplace.
- Drive revenue growth through understanding customer and prospect needs and by adopting a solutions focussed approach which engages clients and prospects and increases new business opportunities
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Some agriculture sector specialist knowledge together with experience in banking a portfolio of customers, operating within the turnover stated above.
- Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Corporate Agriculture Banking, Financial Services
- Proven ability in identifying and meeting customers with a proven experience of leading the delivery of an excellent customer service, proactively look for innovative ways to improve the service delivered to customers
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively.
- Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
- A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
The base location for the role will be Aberdeen with customers primarily located in Aberdeenshire, Tayside and Perthshire.
