We provide a safer, smoother digital trade experience. We help clients solve business challenges through innovative solutions and strategic partners, and we bring them insights and ideas to enable them to grow and protect their businesses.

Who you are

You’re curious, motivated and interested in how global trade works in practice. You don’t need to know transaction banking inside out yet — what matters is your integrity, your drive to learn and your willingness to take ownership. You could be a great fit if you enjoy working with others, communicating clearly and building trusted relationships. You’re proactive, organised and comfortable spotting issues before they become bigger problems. You’re also interested in how businesses move goods, manage risk and operate across borders. If you want to understand the detail behind international trade while building practical skills in a global environment, this could be a strong fit.

What you'll do

You’ll work with teams that help clients trade internationally by providing working capital and risk management solutions. You could support activity across trade cycles, payments, documentation and risk, and see how deals move from idea through to execution. Your work might include helping with Letters of Credit, maintaining records, tracking trade transactions and currency movements, analysing data in Excel, and supporting reports or pitch materials. You’ll also work with colleagues involved in compliance and controls, carrying out checks such as sanctions screening and anti-money laundering reviews. It’s practical work with exposure to both the detail and the bigger picture of global trade.

What you'll learn

You’ll build the technical knowledge, practical understanding and professional skills needed to understand transaction banking with confidence. Through structured training and hands-on learning, you’ll deepen your understanding of trade cycles, compliance requirements, stakeholder engagement and how Sales and Product teams support clients in different ways. You’ll also strengthen your awareness of anti-money laundering, sanctions and trade law, so you can see how global trade is supported responsibly. Working with colleagues across business areas will help you build a broader view of how the bank fits together. By the end of the internship, you’ll have a stronger foundation in Global Trade Solutions and a clearer sense of how your skills could grow in this space.

Where you'll work

You’ll work in Global Trade Solutions within Corporate and Institutional Banking, alongside teams that support clients trading across borders. It’s a collaborative environment where product, operations, client coverage and risk teams work together to keep trade moving smoothly. You’ll be part of a professional office culture that values teamwork, accuracy and commercial awareness. Expect exposure to an international banking environment where different functions connect closely and where detail matters.
