Who you are
You’re curious, thoughtful and interested in understanding how your skills could fit into Corporate and Institutional Banking. You don’t need prior finance experience — just the right mindset and a genuine interest in learning. You could be a great fit if you enjoy asking questions, understanding what drives decisions and exploring how businesses grow. You work well with others, communicate clearly and are comfortable sharing your perspective while listening to different views. You’re proactive, organised and able to prioritise when things get busy. You also pay attention to detail and like using data to understand the bigger picture. If you want to explore a career that combines analysis, teamwork and real-world client impact, this could be a strong fit.
What you'll do
Over four days, you’ll explore how teams in Corporate and Institutional Banking support clients and solve complex business challenges. You’ll see how Relationship Managers work with colleagues across Trade Finance, Issuer Services, Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Global Payment Solutions Markets and Securities Services to deliver tailored solutions. Through interactive activities, you’ll analyse information, contribute to presentations and start thinking through client, profitability and risk considerations with support from HSBC colleagues. You’ll also hear from people doing these roles day to day, from graduates to senior leaders. It’s a practical introduction to how teams collaborate across the bank to support clients at scale.
What you'll learn
Over four days, you’ll build a clearer understanding of how Corporate and Institutional Banking works and where your skills could fit. You’ll learn how teams think about profitability, risk and client needs when shaping solutions, and why those decisions matter in the real world. You’ll also hear directly from graduates and senior leaders, helping you understand different career paths, how people got started and what strong performance looks like. Through interactive learning, you’ll strengthen your commercial awareness, confidence and ability to connect complex ideas to practical outcomes. By the end, you’ll have a more informed view of the industry—and a clearer sense of whether this path feels right for you.
Where you'll work
You’ll explore Corporate and Institutional Banking, spending time with teams across areas like Cash Management, Investment Banking, Relationship Management, Markets and Securities Services. It’s a collaborative, international environment where specialist teams work together to support global corporate and institutional clients. Additional information
This particular program does not satisfy the Home Office eligibility criteria for visa sponsorship. We therefore can only progress applications from candidates who can demonstrate that they are eligible to work in the UK without HSBC sponsorship for the full duration of, and beyond, the programme end date. We cannot progress applications from candidates who apply with a graduate visa as you would not be eligible for sponsorship by HSBC when your current visa expires. You will need to confirm what visa you hold, if any, and its expiry date when you apply for us to verify your eligibility when you apply.
Due to the limited number of places on our insight programme, we are only able to consider candidates who will not require onward sponsorship after graduation
